Re:Qi was born during the height of the pandemic, out of the need to live a more conscious, holistic life, and the longing for community and human connection.
In today’s fast-paced capitalistic society, we tend to be overly driven by external rewards, while constantly being bombarded with overstimulation and distractions from media and technology. We go through the motions of work, sleep, repeat - disconnected from our heart, our body, and our environment.
Re:Qi offers a mindful space for leaders and change makers to step away from the frantic pace of life to reconnect with our whole self and become more aware of our surroundings.
With an approach rooted in the Eastern wisdom traditions, we collaborate with some of the most reputable practitioners, teachers and healers across diverse fields - from food and art to traditional medicine and psychology. Our programs come together to feature a wide array of awe-inspiring experiences bridging Asian healing traditions with modern wellness techniques, and curated to flow according to our inner energy and body clock.
Since our inaugural retreat in Feb 2021, we have welcomed groups of dynamic, diverse and driven individuals looking to grow and live more holistically. While many of our guests come to the retreat by themselves, or with a partner, they leave empowered with new wellness practices and become part of a warm and supportive community that further supports their ongoing transformation and growth as they continue their journey after the retreat.
OUR FOUNDER | SUMMER SONG
Summer is a curious, culture and wellbeing enthusiast, who is on a mission to inspire others to lead a more conscious and holistic lifestyle, through transformative experiences rooted in Asian wisdom and healing traditions.
Summer sees today’s booming global wellness industry as largely influenced by the Western New Age movement with modalities such as yoga and meditation regaining popularity in Asia. Despite their original roots in Asia, it is clear that these practices are not regarded as homegrown but rather imported back.
Summer believes that being in Asia, standing on lands inhabited by some of the world’s oldest civilizations, we have been gifted with a wealth of wisdom and time-tested practices that are deeply beneficial to our modern lifestyle, but we have gotten used to looking to the West for inspiration and have taken the Asian heritage for granted. Only when we are connected to our roots, can we live more fully in the present and become more resilient for the future. After-all, a tree cannot grow tall without its roots.
Summer brings more than 10 years of experience in the people and culture space, across different industries from business consulting to healthcare. Prior to founding CulturedGen, and creating Re:Qi Retreat, Summer was consulting Fortune 500 companies in people strategy and organizational transformations. Summer holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics & International Relations from University of Toronto and Master’s degree in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.
She finds deep fulfillment in finding interconnections across diverse fields, bringing people together at retreats, while sharing her love for meaningful experiences, philosophy, art, psychology, and more.
